History
Based in New Haven, Connecticut, with offices in New York City, First Growth Properties, LLC (a Delaware limited liability company) is a privately held investment vehicle founded for the purpose of acquiring controlling interests in growth companies and turnaround opportunities.
First Growth's primary investment objective is to support portfolio companies with a specialized approach to creating long term value. The firm retains industry specialists to assist it in its review, analysis and management of its investment opportunities.
First Growth and its affiliates have led successful debt and equity investments in more than 100 transactions. Investments have included subdebt financings, growth financings, divestitures acquisitions and lease financings.
Vision
First Growth seeks investments in established companies that present distinct opportunities to create meaningful value through balance sheet enhancement, cost control restraints and operating improvements.
First Growth prefers to take a lead investor role in transactions, but has taken a minority equity position in some circumstances. First Growth invests for the long term and does not seek immediate returns from its investments. We generally do not invest in startups or high tech businesses. We typically motivate our managers through cash incentives and performance based option programs.
First Growth believes our thirty years of operating history permits us to provide both strategic and operational support to our portfolio companies.
